How can you protect yourself?

Everyone is strongly urged to practice heightened hygiene habits, social distancing, and everyday preventive actions that can help stop the spread of respiratory viruses, including:

  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
  • Stay home when you are sick.
  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.
  • Do not congregate in groups of 10 or more people
  • Stay home as much as possible.

IMPORTANT NOTICES ABOUT COURT AND COUNTY FACILITY CLOSURES/MODIFIED HOURS

  • Effective, Monday, March 16, 2020 the Hinds County Board of Supervisors has ordered all Hinds County recreational facilities closed to the public until further notice.
  • Effective Tuesday, March 17, 2020 the Hinds County Board of Supervisors has ordered only "essential personnel" to work staggered shifts until March 29, 2020. Personnel who have the abilitiy to work remotely are instructed to implement measures to ensure the handling of their daily duties from home. All other personnel are to return to their regular work hours on Monday, March 30, 2020 or when notified.
  • The following offices remain open with limited access (NO MORE THAN 5 INDIVIDUALS ARE ALLOWED TO ENTER AT ONE TIME.):

  2. TAX COLLECTOR'S OFFICE
  3. CHANCERY CLERK'S OFFICE
  4. CIRCUIT CLERK'S OFFICE
