Under the direction of the environmental services director, the Hinds County Department of Environmental Services (ES) team is responsible for maintaining a healthy, clean, and safe environment for all visitors, employees, and staff by performing a wide variety of duties to clean and disinfect Hinds County facilities. This is done by performing a range of cleaning tasks, from mopping and floor buffing to area sanitizing and waste disposal. They are also responsible for supply and distribution of toiletry items and other paper products to areas as needed.
The Environmental Services team works in partnership with other County entities to quickly mitigate environmental and safety hazards in County facilities. ES strives to maintain full compliance with all OSHA regulations, minimize or eliminate incidents of liability, and reduce waste in Hinds County.
Included in the Department of Environmental Services is the Hinds County Detention Maintenance team which is a dedicated team of professionals focused on maintaining all Hinds County detention facilities.
